Let’s celebrate historic preservation month with ( SAVE OUR STORIES ) S.O.S. on May 21st, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. S.O.S. will hold a press conference at Aunt Sue’s Tea Room, located at 225 West Spencer Avenue to announce a new program called Save Our Seven. Save Our Seven is the first ever list of historically significant endangered structures as well as five on a “watch list”. The intent of S.O.S. is to bring recognition of these structures as well as highlight the historical significance and architectural design and stories that have been associated with each place. The purpose of the endangered list is to raise awareness about the buildings in hopes that a solution may be found for each property’s long-term preservation. S.O.S. hopes they can somehow help secure and protect these historical gems so that future generations can enjoy their beauty and importance in our community.
Please join S.O.S., Save Our Stories Historic Preservation group for our first annual announcement of Save Our Seven.
