Folkie’s Tavern will host tomorrow’s picnic in the 3rd Street Courtyard from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The menu will include chicken salad cold plate, turkey club wrap with pasta salad, or Cobb salad and a bottle of water for $8. Folkie’s Tavern isn’t just a place where weary patrons can order up hot food and a cold drink; they also serve as a community center where friends, co-workers, and neighbors can talk, joke and laugh. Please show your support for not only Main Street Marion’s Thursday Picnic event, but also to one of our downtown staples – Folkie’s Tavern.
Entertainment will be provided by Marion native, NY composer and musician, Darrell Briscoe and Marion songwriter and musician, Bobby Gray Pittman. You don’t want to miss the performances of Darrell and Bobby. It will be a guaranteed amazing, awe inspiring, goose-bumps inducing performance!
Table chalk will be provided! Please feel free to leave your comments and feedback on the tables before you go!! If you feel so inclined, you may even draw in the Lazy River. And, don’t forget to visit our vendors under the canopy! Chef James will also be back to serve up some of his most awesome desserts in the Courtyard as well! Several vendors from the Seeds of Change Marketplace will also be set-up in the Courtyard during the picnic for your perusal and enjoyment.
Maybe it’s the smell of the delicious food in the air. Or the warmth from the sun on your skin. Or the feeling that this is the best lunch break you will ever have downtown. Whatever the reason, Picnics in the Courtyard have been growing in popularity, and Main Street Marion is happy to provide this opportunity to showcase a downtown venue, highlight local eateries, and attract a diverse audience to our City’s core.
