Please read carefully before submitting your photos for the #DtMarion Photography Contest!
There is no limit on the number of entries per person. Each entry must comply with the following requirements (the “Photograph Requirements”):
Photographs must be in digital format. The photograph need not be taken with a digital camera; scans of negatives, transparencies, or photographic prints are acceptable. All digital files must be in JPEG or JPG format.
Photographs must have been taken within two (2) years before the date of entry, be within the downtown district, and may not previously have won an award in a Photo Contest. The downtown district includes First Street to Tenth Street and Nebraska Street to Sweetser Street. Photographs that include sculptures, statues, paintings, and other works of art will be accepted as long as they do not constitute copyright infringement or fraud. When photographing the work of others, it must be as an object in its environment and not a full-frame close-up of another person’s art.
The photograph, in its entirety, must be a single work of original material taken by the Contest entrant. By entering the Contest, entrant represents, acknowledges, and warrants that the submitted photograph is an original work created solely by the entrant, that the photograph does not infringe on the copyrights, trademarks, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or entity, and that no other party has any right, title, claim, or interest in the photograph.
The photograph must not, in the sole and unfettered discretion of the Sponsor, contain obscene, provocative, defamatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable or inappropriate content.
The caption must be complete and accurate, sufficient to convey the circumstances in which the photograph was taken. Disguising or misrepresenting the origin of your content is cause for disqualification.
Watermarks are not acceptable.
Photos must be original photos taken by the person submitting them.
Photos must be submitted by December 31. No exceptions.
Photos will be uploaded on the First Friday of January (January 2nd) for the world to see! The owner of the photo that generates the most likes by January 31st at noon, will receive an awesome gift basket full of goodies from local businesses.
Main Street Marion has the right to use the photos for marketing materials after the contest. Photographers will receive photo credit.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE:
The #DtMarion Photo Contest is open to all photographers who are at least 13 years of age. MSM reserves the right to verify, in its sole judgment, entrant eligibility.
HOW TO ENTER:
Each Entry consists of an entry form and up to five images. To enter, click here and complete an entry form with the required information, including your name, telephone number, and email address. Label your photograph file with the name of your piece. You must complete an new entry form for every five images. There is no limit to how many entries you can submit.
