We know it’s cold outside.  So, January’s First Friday Downtown Celebration allows you to experience downtown Marion (#DtMarion) virtually through photography submitted by locals willing to share their ideas, talents, perspectives and experiences!  Main Street Marion aims to find new and distinctive shots of our downtown by the people that make our downtown unique.  The #DtMarion Photography Contest is open to all photographers who are at least 13 years of age.  Photo submission deadline is today, December 31, and there is no limit on how many photos a photographer can submit.

Main Street Marion sponsored the contest, with additional support from our sponsors – Little Caesars, Domino’s, Marion Civic Theatre, Jerry’s Leather Shop & Shoe Repair, Marion Music & Sound, and the Marion Public Library & Museum. Our winner will receive a gift package full of gift certificates for each of the previously mentioned sponsors.

Photos will be uploaded on the First Friday of January (January 2nd) for the world to see! The owner of the photo that generates the most likes by January 31st at noon will be our winner!  That means YOU are one of the judges!  Peruse Main Street Marion’s Facebook Album – “#DtMarion in Focus” beginning January 2nd and vote for your favorites by simply clicking LIKE. You can share them as well and encourage your friends and family to be a judge as well.  Photos will be added to the @MainStreetMarion Instagram page throughout the month of January to help promote the event.

We hope that you are able to partake in this opportunity to build an understanding of our community at its core through exposure and engagement!

This blog post is brought to you by Main Street Marion, an independent nonprofit downtown association that inspires, unifies and champions the Downtown Marion Experience.
