Thank You All of Our Spring Downtown Clean-Up Volunteers

Thank you so much to all of the amazing individuals volunteered their time for our first Downtown Clean-Up of 2015!  We had over 50 people show up to help us last Saturday between 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., which allowed us to pick-up trash throughout the 1st to 7th Streets and Nebraska to Shunk Streets!  We were also able to help several downtown businesses with tasks such as painting, window washing, heavy lifting, and general clean-up.

Big thank you to the Marion Indiana Fire Department for hosing down our downtown sidewalks and to Marion Utilities for getting the street cleaner out in the wee hours of Thursday morning before the clean-up!  Thank you to the City of Marion Indiana Street Department for collecting all of our trash bags and boxes on Monday following the clean-up and disposing of that trash for good.  Thank you to our corporate teams Lowe’s, Faithful Friends, Dixon Services, and Office Court Reporting.  Thank you J & J Landscaping for implementing a weed prevention program in our downtown district this year and for sprucing up our planters!  Thank you Folkie’s Tavern for keeping our teams fed, and thank you Meijer for keeping our teams hydrated with plenty of bottles of water!  Much gratitude for our Design Committee Co-Chairs Eric Marshall and Layla Adair Price for their tireless efforts to plan, organize, and implement this program.  We couldn’t have done it without you!!

Again, thank you to ALL involved for showing pride in your downtown and your community.  We truly appreciate your help and dedication to keep downtown and community at-large looking beautiful!

We will schedule another Downtown Clean-Up  in September for the fall season.  Stay tuned for a schedule so you can get involved with helping, if you would like to join us!  You can JOIN the next clean-up by visiting our event page on Facebook!

We are EVER grateful!
